Beret Flash
A purple shield-shaped embroidered item with a semi-circular base 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in height and 1 7/8 inches (4.76 cm) in width overall with an inner Air Force yellow shield 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in height and 1 inch (2.54 cm) in width, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border. The beret flash was approved 25 June 1981. It was amended to correct the description on 14 August 2007.
Background Trimming
A purple oval-shaped embroidered item 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in height and 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width overall with an inner Air Force yellow oval 1/2 inch (1.27 cm) in height and 1 3/8 inches (3.49 cm) in width, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border. The background trimming was approved on 25 June 1981. It was amended to correct the description on 14 August 2007.
